Mariah Nix



Mariah joined Murphy & Hourihane as an attorney in November 2017, after serving as a law clerk at the firm since February 2016. Prior to joining Murphy & Hourihane, Mariah worked with the in-house legal team at the Chicago Stock Exchange, where she assisted with rule filings, and researched SEC regulations and comparative rules of other national securities exchanges. Mariah has also worked as a legal extern at Levy Restaurants, Inc., where she was exposed to a range of industry issues, including licensing regulations and employment law. While attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Mariah competed as a member of the ABA Client Counseling team, and earned a certificate in Trial Advocacy. Prior to law school, Mariah attended Indiana University, graduating with Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and criminal justice, served as social chair and recruitment chair of her sorority, and served for 2 years as a member of the Operations and Alumni Relations committees for the Indiana University Dance Marathon, the second largest student-run philanthropic organization in the nation, which raised in excess of $2,000,000 each year for Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
